Hi, I'm Karmen! I work with women, young adults, parents, and caregivers who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and begin to move forward in an empowering way. If you've found your way here, something is probably feeling hard to shift. Maybe in your relationships, in patterns you keep returning to, or in the exhaustion of always showing up for everyone else while quietly losing track of yourself.
My approach is relational and rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which means we'll explore how your past experiences and relationships may be shaping what you're going through today. Patterns that feel confusing in the present often make a lot more sense when we understand where they began. I also draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you get curious about the different parts of yourself that show up under stress, in conflict, or in moments when you feel pulled in different directions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) brings practical tools for shifting the thought patterns and behaviors that keep you stuck.
In our first session, my focus is on helping you feel at ease. We'll talk about what's bringing you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and what has or hasn't felt helpful in the past. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or to know exactly where to start- that's what we work on together. From there, sessions will find their own rhythm. Some will be more reflective and exploratory; others may feel more practical, depending on what you're navigating.
My goal is always to meet you where you are and adjust as your needs change. I strive to create a space where you feel genuinely safe, understood, and free to be fully yourself. Book with me through my calendar to schedule a session!
