As a human, I know that we all suffer from past traumas and old programs installed by our culture, family or even our own selves. I have also learned the value of having a space to explore those burdens, become curious about where they came from and assess how they are affecting you in your current life.
As a therapist, my goal is to provide you with calm, open space to do just that. We can explore the things that weigh you down, learn the lessons they have provided you and work to set them down so you can free up space and energy within yourself to create more of what you do want in your life.
I believe that each person is the expert or “author”ity in their own life and knows better than anyone else what they truly need. I see myself as a facilitator, who can help you learn to connect with your own deeper self, who knows what is best for you to achieve balance and guide your own healing.
I practice from a holistic, strengths-based lens, meaning that I recognize that our mental health impacts every part of the whole selves, including our bodies, our relationships, our spirits, creativity, purpose, and heart. As a holistic practitioner, I love to approach healing from various perspectives. This can be through the use of books, articles, music, movement, art, sound, workshops, groups and my most often utilized tool, writing.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also utilize Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as a way to get stuck energy moving and help you overcome almost any issue you are dealing with. This approach uses bi-lateral stimulation with eye movement, similar to EMDR, but unlike EMDR, you do not have to talk about the issue in depth. It can have profound and lasting effects and provide you with deep insights in a very short period of time. It often only takes, on average, one to three sessions to resolve a specific issue and it can be a great compliment to work you are already doing with another Therapist.
ART has been proven to work with almost any issue: trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD, addictions/substance abuse, performance anxiety, victimization, poor self image, relationship issues, infidelity, codependency, grief, job related stress, pain management and memory enhancement among others.
I look forward to providing you space to drop what no longer serves you and reconnect with your own innate, authentic self.
