Humor in session is important because laughing is healing; therefore, I enjoy bringing laughter into my work. I believe that a collaborative perspective is vital in therapy. This aids in developing rapport and trust and is helpful in clients achieving their goals. My style and approach include warmth, sensitivity, and honesty. Healing starts with courage and wisdom, coming to therapy is a big step. Each person wants to be treated as an individual. I do my best to tailor treatment to fit your needs. I also believe that therapy works best when it engages the whole person, body, mind, emotions and spirit to assist in reaching the best outcome. My goal is to assist each person to move toward being their own therapist.

 I have over twenty years of experience working in the field of mental health. I am licensed both as a Licensed Psychologist and and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.  I have worked in a variety of  clinical settings with a wide range of clients with diverse backgrounds. The settings include chemical health treatment and outpatient mental health. The dual licensure and length of time in the field allows me to view clinical issues from a multi-layered approach. 

I have special interest in but not limited to, PTSD and trauma work, with adults and children. I also work with grief and loss, anger management, chemical health, women’s issues, anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, impulse control issues, borderline personality disorder, people whom have a difficult time with emotion regulation, and couples work. My work draws on my training in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Early childhood trauma protocol, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Mindfulness. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist. I am also a State Approved Supervisor for the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
